Playing Russian roulette with children's lives
06/21/2007
About halfway through his op-ed piece in Tuesday's New York Times, columnist Bob Herbert says, "10 billion dollars a year is considered a pittance when it comes to funding wars and tax cuts for the very wealthy. But it's suddenly a lot of money when the subject is the health of America's children."
While the full column, "When Dollars Trump Compassion," cannot be accessed online, it's worth every effort to access Herbert's championing of Children's Defense Fund's major effort in Congress to get health coverage for 9 million American children who are deprived of it.
